Description: In addition to 200,000+ acres of forest and lakes, Voyageurs National Park is also a certified Dark Sky Park. The northerly latitude makes it an excellent place to watch the northern lights. Some locations recommended for stargazing include Ash River Visitor Center and Rainy Lake Visitor Center closer to International Falls. Even better would be any of the lakefront backcountry campsites accessed by boat. Several public and private campgrounds are found nearby as well.
