Description: This is a highway pulloff on a cliff overlooking the ocean in between the towns of Ólafsvík and Grundarfjörður. Part of the sky is blocked to the south and east by the cliffs, and the lights of Ólafsvík are visible to the west. But the view over the ocean to the north makes this one of the best locations in the area to view the aurora borealis. Just don’t go too close to the cliff’s edge in the dark.
