Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, United States

Color Zone: Dark Gray
Is Camping Allowed? Yes, 3 campgrounds
Entrance Fee? $35
Description: Grand Canyon is currently in the process of retrofitting all their lights so they can become the next International Dark Sky Park. Forests cover much of the rim, but the best places to set up a telescope (at least on the south rim) would probably be near the visitor center or at Desert View. There are plenty of opportunities for nightscape photos at any of the overlooks. The north rim is generally darker, but it is not open in the winter. A star party is held on both the south and north rim every June.
