Description: Dinosaur National Monument is an International Dark Sky Park located in Northeast Utah and Northwest Colorado. This large park offers great opportunities for stargazing, particular in the more remote areas in Colorado. Split Mountain Campground (pictured below) is the only campground open and accessible year round. But there is a little bit of light pollution from Vernal to the west. Other campgrounds include Rainbow Park, Echo Park, and Deerlodge Park. Canyon walls may block parts of the sky in places. But some of the overlooks in the higher elevations have excellent views.
